Position Statement from the Japan Tasar Association

Hello friends,

I'm deeply grateful to Rob, member of Sandringham Y.C and Victorians for their effort leading Championship successful. Especially Rob had worked patiently, thanks a lot!

I was elected succeeding president of WTC. With overcoming the wall of languages and poor understanding for the office, I'll perform my duties with my best. Give me your support and helpful criticism please.

We have started preparation of next Championship at Lake Hamana-ko.  As you know well, economic situation of Japan is not very well. Finding sponsorship is always difficult job. In Japan also.  However JTA is planning the way to produce memorable regatta with less spending. We'd like to lighten the burden imposed on participants.

Sprit of "fun the regatta" built by Yoshikawa-san still remain.   "Strong competition on the water" also remain as usual.  Soon we have beautiful cherry blossoms. Although we can find this  flower blooming over the world, the beauty of Japanese cherry called "sakura" is the best! In Japan, spring seems to be the season of the beginning. Sakura is not only a flower tell us the coming of spring but a symbol of fresh starting.  I hope this year's blooming will be more wonderful and bring us happy starting.
