Queensland votes for weighted voting, Western Australia is opposed

ATC members in Queensland have voted in favour of the proposal to use weighted voting for changes to the class rules and constitution., while members in Western Australia have voted against.

Kayne Binks, Secretary/Treasurer of the Tasar Association of Western Australia, writes:

"It is our membership's collective opinion that the current distribution of voting is flawed, however the JTC proposal in our humble opinion, does not offer a more satisfactory solution than the present modus operandi. Thus we vote against the proposal, with the aim of seeking a superior solution."

This make five votes in favour of the proposal, and one against. Japan, the UK, North American, Queensland and Victoria have voted for the change. Seven votes in favour are required to approve the proposed change.
