2009 Worlds Measurement Procedure

A message from the Chief Measurer to the Regional Measurers:

Gentlemen,

Please find attached the Pre Regatta measurement process and measurement checklist and the for the Tasar World Championships being held at Wakayama, Japan.

This documentation has been drafted over the last few months by Tomoyuki Miyashita, JTA Measurer and me and has now been approved for distribution by the Regatta Organising Committee.

The key objective of the Pre Regatta measurement process is to reduce the overall time taken to Register competitors and boats at the regatta and to place the onus for compliance with Class Rules back on the competitors. Our aim is to get as many boats as possible through the pre regatta measurement process, thereby reducing the time taken and overall workload at Regatta Registration.

The support of all Region and District Measurers is requested to help make this process a success. Your role is to;

1) Arrange a Pre Regatta Measurement day for those competitors from your Region/District who are attending the Tasar Worlds. This should be done sometime between the 18th June, and the 18th August.

2) For each boat complete Part A of the Tasar Measurement Checklist – Wakayama 2009.

3) Fax or scan/email the completed document to the Japanese Measurer, Tomo Miyashita (fax number/email details on the form)

Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated. If you are not the current Measurer, please forward this note on to the most appropriate person in order to start the process. Any questions on the process or the form can be directed to Tomo Miyashita or me.

Best regards,

Graham Hanna
Chief Measurer
