Specification Change to the Downhaul Cleat

At the Tasar World Council meeting in Darwin, July 4, 2005, the Measurer's Committee recommended allowing the use of a swivelling block with cleat for the downhaul. A Ronstan RF5 or similar fitting could be used.

There was general support for this suggestion at the World Council meeting, but no vote was taken.

Designer Frank Bethwaite agreed with the proposal and made the necessary specification change to allow the use of an RF5 or similar fitting as an option, in place of the original clamcleat.

The World Council approved this specification change, in accordance with the requirements of Class Rule A.1.2.

ISAF approved this change on January 3, 2006.

This type of fitting is legal for use in Tasar events.
